Hospital Chaplaincy

The Parish of Christ Church West Goulburn is responsible for providing chaplaincy at Goulburn Base Hospital. The ministry team and a couple of volunteers regularly visit patients, conduct a weekly communion service in the hospital chapel and respond to emergency call outs 24/7.

Patients and their families can find it difficult to make sense of suffering, illness and death. Hospital chaplaincy provides spiritual and pastoral care and support as people face some of the deep mysteries of human life and meaning. Hospital chaplaincy embraces four major areas of pastoral care: guiding, sustaining, reconciling and healing. It is a privilege to minister with people at these difficult times in their lives.
