Confirmation
Confirmation is a step of commitment. It means making a public statement of faith in Christ and your desire to follow him throughout your life. It also affirms your membership in the Anglican Church of Australia.
Those who were baptised as an infant are able to ‘confirm’ the promises for themselves that were made by their parents and godparents at their baptism. Those who have not been baptised previously are baptised during the confirmation service, prior to being confirmed by the visiting bishop.
Anyone who is mature enough to understand and make a public statement of faith and willing to be an active member of the Anglican Church of Australia may be confirmed. A rough age guide is from early high school upwards.
Please contact the church for an application form. Once an application form has been received, a member of the ministry team will arrange a group to meet together for approximately seven weeks to explore what Christians believe and to think through one’s own commitment.
