Faith grows best in community. At Christ Church, there are many ways to get involved beyond Sunday morning — whether you are looking for Bible study, prayer, fellowship, service or a way to learn more.

Parish life

Finding Your Place

You do not need to have everything worked out before joining a group or asking a question. Parish life grows through conversation, hospitality, prayer and shared service. If you are unsure where to start, please contact us and we can help point you in the right direction.

smaller gatherings

Home Groups

Home Groups provide the opportunity to grow in understanding of the Bible and explore how it applies to everyday life. These smaller gatherings allow more space than Sunday services for questions, discussion, prayer and friendship.

Groups run throughout the year at different times during the week, meeting weekly, fortnightly or monthly. During Lent, many groups meet weekly as the parish follows a coordinated series of studies and sermons.

Anyone is welcome to join, and no prior Bible knowledge is assumed.

The Bible

Know Your Bible / KYB

Know Your Bible is designed to help women grow in their knowledge and understanding of the Bible. Members read a set part of the Bible at home using a study guide, then meet to share insights and discuss the questions together.

Christ Church’s KYB group meets on Thursday mornings at 9:30am.

All Welcome

Mothers’ Union

Mothers’ Union is made up of people from West Goulburn, Cathedral and North Goulburn parishes. It meets on the second Thursday of each month at 1.30pm in the Mary Thomas Room at the Cathedral.

Members come from many walks of life — married, unmarried, male and female, mothers and not. All are welcome.

Education

School Scripture / SRE

School Scripture, or Special Religious Education, is an opportunity in NSW public schools for children to be educated in the faith of their family.

Christ Church West Goulburn supports the Goulburn Association of Churches in the provision of Scripture in local primary schools. Support is given financially and through authorised volunteer teachers, with particular support for Scripture at Goulburn South Public School.

All Scripture teachers attend training in classroom management and Child Protection and hold registered Working With Children Checks.
