The Feast of St Peter and St Paul gives the Church an opportunity to remember two of the great apostles whose lives helped shape the early Christian community.
Peter and Paul were very different people, yet both were called by Christ and used by God in the life and mission of the Church. Peter is remembered for his leadership, courage and human frailty. Paul is remembered for his teaching, missionary work and deep commitment to proclaiming the gospel.
For a parish church such as Christ Church West Goulburn, this feast reminds us that the Church is built not on perfect people, but on the grace and calling of God. Christian witness is lived through prayer, worship, service, hospitality and faithfulness in ordinary places.
As we gather in worship, we give thanks for those who have gone before us in the faith and for the continuing life of the Church in our own community.
